What are precision valve balls?

Precision valve balls are sealing or flow-control spheres whose material, geometry and surface finish are matched to the valve seat and service medium. They may be solid, ported, drilled, hollow, coated or custom-machined.

A valve ball is not fully specified by diameter. Pressure, temperature, fluid, solids, corrosion, seat material, leakage target, cycles, actuation and cleaning method determine the correct material and finish.
