PRODUCT FAQ

Answers for engineering and procurement teams.

Send the operating media, temperature, pressure, size, tolerance and quantity for an application-specific review.

What are special material balls used for?

They are selected when standard steel cannot provide the required hardness, density, chemical stability, electrical behavior, temperature capability, wear life or weight. Typical uses include valves, pumps, bearings, instruments, semiconductor equipment and custom engineered assemblies.

What materials can SDBALLS supply?

The portfolio includes tungsten carbide, tungsten heavy alloy, tantalum, niobium, titanium, silicon nitride, zirconia, alumina, PTFE, POM, nylon, polypropylene, glass, brass, bronze, copper and other application-selected sphere materials.

Can you supply ceramic balls?

Yes. Silicon nitride, zirconia and alumina are core ceramic options. Grade, composition, diameter, precision, finish and documentation should be matched to the actual duty.

Do you support small quantity orders?

Yes. SDBALLS Industry Corp. supports North American customers with samples, prototype quantities, testing programs, repair requirements and small specialty lots, subject to material and size availability.

Can you provide material certificates?

Material certificates, dimensional inspection reports, hardness or density results, compliance declarations and third-party testing can be coordinated according to the product and purchase specification.

What sizes are available?

Availability depends on the material and manufacturing route. Many families cover approximately 0.5–100 mm, while specialty compositions, precision grades and custom features require engineering review.

Can you customize special material balls?

Yes. Custom diameter, tolerance, finish, color, composition, density, packaging and documentation can be reviewed. Drawing-based holes, threads or coatings are handled through our engineered-ball program.

What is the difference between ceramic, carbide and plastic balls?

Carbide prioritizes extreme hardness, density and wear resistance. Ceramics combine hardness with lower weight, corrosion resistance or electrical insulation. Engineering plastics prioritize low mass, chemical compatibility, low friction and economical processing.
